you to TEAM TALK TO THE HAND RIDES ASL STYLE THROUGH GRIFFITH PARK from 8:30am
to 12:30pm at Griffith Park, Pony Rides Parking Lot, 4400 Crystal Springs Drive,
Los Angeles, CA. (First parking lot at the corner of Los Feliz Blvd. and
Riverside Drive). Join AIDS/LifeCycle (ALC) Team Talk to the Hand on our
journey through and around Griffith Park on Sunday, August 17. All Deaf, Hard of
Hearing and American Sign Language users and their friends/family are welcome to
join us. No one turned away for lack of signing or cycling ability -- come join
us and learn a sign or two!! Our last Deaf/HoH/ASL friends ride saw a group of
15 of us riding together through the park. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE REGISTERED FOR
AIDS/LIFECYCLE TO JOIN US. We welcome all levels of bicyclists, however, this is
a perfect ride for beginning cyclists as we'll give a brief overview of: safe
group cycling; effective gear shifting; and, stretching tips. We love new
cyclists and we're happy to answer all your questions! We'll be stopping at the
halfway point of our ride for brunch and conversation at Riverside Cafe. In
total this is a 13 mile ride with some very short inclines and nice downhills on
the way back into the park. AIDS/LifeCycle regulations require: you wear a
helmet while on your bike; have at least two water bottles with you (one for
water and one for an electrolyte-type drink); and your bike is in safe operating
condition. And, as is the rule on all official AIDS/LifeCycle Training Rides: NO
RIDER IS EVER LEFT BEHIND! Meet time: 8:30am, Ride out: 9:00am, Certified

Deafness, Inc. welcomes you to A TASTE OF EAGLE ROCK from 12 pm to 6 pm at GLAD,

2008 from Noon-6pm the GLAD in conjunction with the Eagle Rock Chamber of
Commerce will proudly present Eagle Rock’s first ever “TASTE OF EAGLE ROCK”.
This much anticipated event will bring together diverse restaurants and
community based businesses in support of GLAD. The event is set to showcase
local restaurants that will provide delicious samplings of selected menu items.

of Hearing welcomes you to BOWLING AND SOCIAL GATHERING at Fantasy Lanes, 84245
Indio Springs Drive., Indio, CA. This is a great time for adults and
families with children are welcome. If you want to bowl, we ask you to arrive by
11:45 am so you can get your bowling shoes, find the ball you want to use, and
be ready to start bowling at 12 Noon. The bowling alley gives us the very
special low rate of $2 per person for each game bowled, and shoe rental is at no
cost. If you want to socialize but don't want to bowl, you will still be
welcome. All D/deaf, hard of hearing, and ASL students who are ready for some
real world sign practice are welcome. The bowling alley is adjacent to the
