12 pm and SIGN TO VOICE PRACTICE AND EVALUATION from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm at SLF,

Relay Interpreter!" - Have you been thinking about joining the Video Relay team?
Nicole and Jennifer will give you pointers on the who, what, where and why's of
becoming a VR Interpreter! The last part of the workshop will be some hands-on
practice of VR interpreting. Don't miss it! "Voice to Sign Practice and
Evaluation" You asked for it! You got it! Need some hands-on practice voicing
for the Deaf in a safe, non-threatening environment? Then this workshop is for
you! We will have some special Deaf visitors who will come and sign stories &
conversations for you as you voice for them. Nicole and Jennifer will take the
time to evaluate your skills in an encouraging, non-judgemental, yet honest way.
If you feel you're just not ready to be evaluated, then you can come and
participate by just watching and hearing the feedback. Due to the nature of this
workshop, it will be limited to 15 active participants. When registering, please
inform us if you will be an active participant or an observer. Cost: NEW
LOW FEE FOR 2010! $26 per workshop, $42 for both. At the door: $32 per workshop,

attorney, Tiffany represented several Deaf clients, including clients with
minimal language skills. She also volunteered as a deaf-blind interpreter/SSP
since college (nearly fourteen years ago!) As an interpreter, she gained
experience working as an interpreter in various settings, including sight
translation & tactile, as well as coordinating interpreting services based on

Educational Objectives: Whether you are going to your first interview, or
meeting with your long-time boss, knowing how to handle the meeting smoothly
with an interpreter could make a difference in whether you get a job offer or a
raise. This four hour workshop will increase understanding of the functions of
an interpreter, what the interpreter can do and will do during the interview and
how to ensure a smooth meeting. The workshop will review the basics of
interpreting ethics and how to prepare for the meeting before, during, and
after. Attendees will be bringing their understanding and experience working
with interpreters in job-related situations. Educational Objectives: 1. To
understand the function of an interpreter. 2. To gain understanding of the RID
Code of Conduct for Interpreters 3. How to communicate with an interpreter about
communication preferences 4. How to prepare for a work related function with an
interpreter before, during, and after the function. *Snacks and beverages will
